On February 8, 2024, GOUMSA (Godfrey Okoye University Medical Students Association) hosted its first-ever seminar with the theme: “CONQUERING CERVICAL CANCER: Prevention, treatment, and hope for the future. 🎗️

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Mr. Ugbede Mmesoma Franklin and Ms. Echezona Chilotam, the event aimed to raise awareness about the increasing number of cancer patients, not just in Nigeria but across Africa.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, faculty HODs, the Faculty Chaplain, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, and our incredible teaching and non-teaching staff graced the event.

A special highlight was the lecture on cervical cancer by the esteemed Prof. Uchenna Umeh, who graciously answered questions from students and staff.

The President of GOUMSA extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to everyone who made this impactful event possible.

Together, let’s work towards a future free from the grip of cervical cancer!
