The Biotechnology Society of Nigeria presented an Award of Achievement to the Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, Rev. Fr. Dr. Prof. Christian Anieke on the 10th of October, 2016.

Presenting the award, the immediate past president of Biotechnology Society of Nigeria (BSN), Dr. Yerima highlighted some of the achievements that chronicled the award.

The Vice Chancellors ability to organize regular hands-on workshop in Molecular Biotechnology thereby satisfying national thirst for competent Nigerians with requisite knowledge in Biotechnology, this achievements is demonstrated in the outstanding performance in quiz and debate during the BSN National Conference in 2015.

Godfrey Okoye University is the only university in Nigeria so far recognized by NEPAD-ABNE, an AU agency for mounting specialized Bio-safety courses. By this stake holders can address the manpower need on issues surrounding application for Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’S) in fighting against hunger, environmental damage and effective health care delivery.

Godfrey Okoye University’s hosting of the BSN Conferences has been adjudged to be the best in the recent past.
