A private Catholic University in Enugu, South East Nigeria, Godfrey Okoye University has launched a programme, GO – Uni European Business Park, for Youth empowerment and education.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja on the initiative, the Admission officer and Director of Student Mentorship and Parent Relations, Jane Ndukwe, said, “the idea of the GO – UNI European Business Park, the first of its kind in Nigeria, came through our able Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke.”

She explained that the GO-UNI European Business Park is a Public -Private Partnership with the Austrian and German governments, private European investors and Godfrey Okoye University.

“It is designed to provide sustainable livelihood to our students and the Nigerian youths through education and employment opportunities. It has attracted over 20 European companies that would have their presence in Godfrey Okoye University,” she noted.

According to her, the GO-UNI European Business Park is located in the serene, Eco-friendly main campus of Godfrey Okoye University, which also has a lake, making it a good tourist attraction.

Ndukwe said; “The GO-UNI European Business Park will be a friendly economic community in Nigeria with adequate recreational facilities, flawless security, access to water, electricity and excellent sanitation. It will teach our students and the Nigerian youths, how to learn and work in an eco-friendly environment, where there’s harmony between human beings and nature. It will expose our youths to working in an excellent environment where things really work and people can find value and happiness in what they do.”

She stated that, “This will encourage more youths to stay back in Nigeria and develop our country rather than run away to other countries for greener pastures. They will literally find this greener pastures in the GO-UNI European Business Park.”

According to her, admission into Godfrey Okoye University is in progress and the cut off point is 160 for all courses except Law, which is 220.

Ndukwe said that, “If you’re looking for a safe and cult-free Institution for your children, then Godfrey Okoye University Enugu, should be your choice. We take pride in providing qualitative education without interruptions. During the peak of COVID-19, we taught our students online. Our hybrid learning style means that all students, lecturers and members of the administrative staff are ICT compliant.
